From July 1st to 24th, the 6th edition of the Nîmes Tennis Tour will take place, with tournaments organized on the city’s courts.
”The Nîmes tennis Tour (NTT) started in 2018. TC Nîmes and AS Bas-Rhône trusted us, thank you to them. With Sébastien (Garcia, tournament programmer), we then purchased thousands of prizes, trophies and tens of thousands of balls. We didn’t really know where we were going…” Six years later, it was seated at the clubhouse of the Hauts-de-Nîmes Academy that Michel Ramillon, co-organizer of the Nîmes Tennis Tour, presented the 6th edition of the NTT on Friday morning.
How far away the 800 registrations of the first year seem at a time when… 3,500 players are expected on the courts of Nîmes, from July 1 to 24, the dates of the NTT. ‘
Internationally famous

Tennis shines, the city of Nîmes too
There will be something for almost everyone and for all levels. ”The NTT is essentially a youth competition, from 7 to 18 years old. For adults (26 competitions)we will be on TMC (multi-chance tournaments).” In the Gard, some gems will be released (see below). A great game, but not only that… ”It’s an opportunity to make tennis shine, but also the city of Nîmes. Last year, we recorded 10,000 overnight stays in Nîmes and its surroundings.”
Human adventure
From year to year, the NTT, “where there is the sporting side and also the human adventure for players or groups”, is modernizing. Latest innovation to date: some matches filmed on courts and the possibility for players to keep the video as a souvenir. In addition to those brought back from Nîmes.
23 days, 6,000 matches, 20 tournaments per day… the NTT machine is launched
TOURNAMENTS – ”The NTT, backed by others, is the type of event which contributes to this increase in licensees. Nothing replaces competition”says Cédric Nouvel, co-director (with Jonas Mouly) of the Hauts-de-Nîmes Academy. The Galaxy tournament (7-18 years), bringing together 2,400 boys and 350 girls for more than 6,000 matches over 23 days, with 20 tournaments scheduled per day, is living proof of this. Among these budding talents, Anatole Lecomte, ranked 15/1 at 11 years old and French number 1 in his category, will be on the court.
