The decision was expected and it will surprise no one. The snow that fell almost everywhere in Normandy this Thursday, November 21, 2024, and the rain and wind predicted for the coming days, logically led to the cancellation of the Football matches scheduled for Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November 2024.
Only national competition matches are maintained
The Manche District was the first to communicate this Thursday afternoon.
“Taking into account the weather conditions of the week and those to come, the Manche Football District decides to postpone to a later date all of the departmental meetings planned for this weekend, for young people, seniors, veterans and women (including including synthetic fields for the sake of sporting fairness). »
The Normandy League did the same shortly after.
“Due to the weather conditions of recent days and future forecasts, the Normandy Football League, in consultation with the five Normandy Districts, has decided to postpone all regional meetings scheduled from Thursday November 21 to Sunday November 24, 2024 inclusive. »
National competitions scheduled on Normandy territory, which fall under the authority of the FFF, are not affected. The matches at Avranches and Granville in National 2, and Saint-Lô in National 3, are therefore maintained.
