Even if jazz is its DNA, Rémi Dugué's latest album, “Lumieres”, also includes rock and even pop… The local child, a self-taught guitarist, forced himself, with his musicians, to going into the studio to record seven pieces: “Pieces far from the gypsy jazz label that sticks to me and that I have played many times on stage,” emphasizes Rémi Dugué. I walk backwards from others. Recording my compositions on an album allows me to move on to the next ones…”
Because, for the guitarist with an international career, setting notes in stone is not in the logic of the jazzman: “What I like in jazz is improvisation, not knowing what it is. is going to happen musically in the next minute. »
There is no doubt, therefore, that Rémi Dugué will not be content, on the stage of the Georges-Leygues theater, this Saturday, November 23, to play a copy and paste of his latest album “Lumieres”. As a quintet, made up of drums, double bass, violin, percussion and of course an acoustic guitar, the group promises very rhythmic sounds for its Villeneuvois set.
Guests

Anaïs Béalu, known as Misski Clak, will come and play tap dancing, adding even more rhythm to this one-night training. She will also be in improv.
The guitarist also associated La Table ovale with the event, most of whose members had founded, fifty years ago, the Jazz 47 association, which introduced the very young Rémi to his first musical emotions as a spectator. For the occasion, they brought out their memories frozen on photo paper, as part of a current exhibition at the cultural center.
