Record mobilization for Succeed Without Waiting week
At the opening of the session, Christian Poiret, president of the Department, and Doriane Bécue, first vice-president in charge of Return to work and integration, presented to elected officials the results of the Succeeding Without Waiting week.
11,037 Northerners participated, a figure up 24% compared to the 2023 edition. Thanks to all the workshops organized, job and training resumptions are already taking shape.

Floods: reimbursement of the insurance excess for victims of the Pévèle
Last summer, storms and mudslides hit part of Pévèle hard.
To support disaster victims, the Nord Department, with the Hauts-de-France Region, is extending the insurance excess reimbursement system to the 20 new municipalities covered by the natural disaster recognition order.

Additional investments for establishments welcoming the elderly and people with disabilities
To improve the well-being of our seniors in EHPADs, a budget of one million euros will make it possible to subsidize the purchase of equipment for 65 establishments, according to 3 priorities: energy performance, creation of common living spaces and adaptation to needs of residents.
For the 4,000 Northerners who have chosen to live in independent residences, 3.43 million euros will finance modernization or rehabilitation work in 13 establishments.
Furthermore, elected officials approved an investment grant of 800,000 euros to support work carried out in 4 residences welcoming Northerners with disabilities.
Financing of the Women’s House in Fourmies
In Fourmies in Avesnois, the Maison des femmes will soon offer 35 additional reception places for victims of domestic violence.
Alongside the Northern Prefecture, the Department will support this AFEJI project to the tune of 340,000 euros.
Investments to improve the reception of protected children
710,450 euros in investment aid were voted by elected officials, for the benefit of three structures welcoming children protected by child welfare. The Rose Pelletier Children's Home in Loos will notably be rehabilitated.
