From 2 to 7 p.m., the Tsuvo music and mediation collective offers local residents the opportunity to learn about writing, beat making (creation of melodies) and recording in a hip-hop music booth. “Since we do rap, it’s mainly young people who come, but the door is open to everyone,” assures Matéo, member of the group. Our goal is to share, to support each person who wants to learn. Whether it’s a teenager who’s never written anything or a guy who’s been rapping for five years. »

On site, all the apprentice artists seem convinced. Among them, Joudi is an amateur composer. “It’s something for young people, it gets the neighborhoods moving,” he says.

“Reaching invisible youth”

“Yesterday we were in Mireuil and tomorrow we will be in Villeneuve,” explained Sandrine Brenans, in charge of mediation and cultural action at La Sirène, on Wednesday. Accompanied by her team, she organized this operation called “Opus dans la place!”. The aim of this operation is to offer cultural mediation to disadvantaged audiences. “We try to reach invisible young people, that is to say from working-class neighborhoods or isolated rural areas. Those who do not have access to music naturally,” she explains. This project is part of the Pose ta prose festival, which takes place on June 28 and 29 on the island of Oléron. It is also part of the Opus mediation program.
