The National Coordination of Private Vocational Training Establishments held its general meeting this Thursday to renew its bodies. But also to advocate to the departmental authority in order to have a legal framework adapted to the realities of the professional training sector.

“When Covid-19 appeared, we came together to maintain our tool, which is the vocational training school. We transformed from a school to a cooperative society to create wealth that will benefit its members. We decided to be part of the sentinels of vocational training for the broader formalization of private establishments to benefit from the support of the State of Senegal,” said Boubacar Diedhiou, president of the coordination of private vocational training establishments. The latter believes that private vocational training schools created since 2020 are no longer able to come together around a single entity to be part of these schools that hold their exams regularly. “There are schools that still do not have approvals or receipts. We call on the new authorities to take our concerns into account by the supervisory authority, which we invite to reduce the procedures for obtaining recognition papers for these vocational training schools that are lasting.
