the essential
In 2024-2025, the cultural season will be rich again in the Albi theaters. Many stars are expected on the boards. The ticket office will open on July 2.

This offer is intended to complement the national scene programming. Allow Albigensians (and many more) to see plays that would not be offered by the cultural actor. Thus, for several years, the city has set up its own programming around two axes.

Theatricals, first of all. It is the possibility of seeing plays which mainly run in Paris. “The best of Parisian boulevard theater,” comments the mayor, Stéphanie Guiraud-Chaumeil. In Occitanie, they are only visible in Montpellier, Toulouse having left the network a few years ago. For spectators, it’s an opportunity to see headliners. And this year, there will be several: Sophie Marceau, who is returning to the stage after 12 years of absence, Régis Laspalès, Jonathan Lambert, Yvan Le Bolloc’h, Isabelle Mergault and even François Berléand. These plays take place at the Grand Théâtre.

Six dates to remember. “The Penguin Waltz” November 3 at 5 p.m.; “Love in Others” on Sunday, December 15 at 5 p.m.; “Trap for a Single Man” Saturday March 1 at 8:30 p.m.; “La note” on Friday March 30 at 5 p.m.; “The Bracelet” on Friday, April 25, at 8:30 p.m.; “Hour of the Assassins” Saturday May 10, at 8:30 p.m.

A “more local” program at the Théâtre des Lices

At the same time, at the Théâtre des Lices, the city is offering a “more local” programme, based around creations. The major event of this cultural year is the creation of a play with Gérard Darmon, Aure Atika and Gilles Cohen in residence in Albi, in January. Three performances will then be given as previews. Another highlight is the start of the season with the return to Albi of Marianne James on 28 September. We will also find the Clotildes, who enchant the Albi audiences every year, or the Baudracco company from Aude, which will introduce us to the repertoire of Marcel Pagnol.

So on the program. September 28, at 8:30 p.m.: “Everything is in the voice” at 8:30 p.m.; October 19 at 8:30 p.m. “Näis”; Thursday, November 28 at 8:30 p.m. “Les virtuosos”; Friday, December 13, at 8:30 p.m. “Blind musical tests” with the Clotildes (at the exhibition center), January 17, 18, 19: “A house of cards” with Gérard Darmon; Friday January 31, at 8:30 p.m.: “Venice under the snow”; Saturday, February 22, at 8:30 p.m. “Alor à mort”; Friday, March 14, at 8:30 p.m. “Too Perfect”; Friday April 4 at 8:30 p.m. “Les clotildes the good surprise”.

Tickets will go on sale from July 2 at the Grand Théâtre box office. Better not waste a minute, because the festival has its fans. The shows sell out quickly. The Théâtre des Lices has only 500 seats.

The ticket office is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tel. 05 63 38 55 56 or albibilleterie.fr
