A young man, aged 34, was shot during the day on Wednesday in Bezons (Val-d'Oise) in circumstances which have yet to be clarified.
It was 1:25 p.m. when the police were called by witnesses who had just heard a series of explosions in rue Jean Baillet. The patrol arrives on site and discovers the presence of a man on the ground. He's bleeding a lot. The thirty-year-old Algerian national was hit in two places on his body: in the right arm and in the left calf. The firefighters came to his aid. They sit him in a corner and stop the bleeding. “He was conscious, but did not wish to tell his story during the intervention,” specifies a source close to the case. The injured man was taken to hospital where he was to be operated on during the day. Municipal police officers set up a security perimeter using barriers so that investigations could be carried out in complete peace of mind.
Officials are questioning witnesses who remained at the scene. The onlookers explain that they heard several gunshots and that they saw the victim run away to try to escape from the killers who were in a car. Forensic police technicians found eight shell casings in rue Hoche where the vehicle of the shooter(s) would have been positioned. Investigators from the Val-d'Oise interdepartmental judicial police service are responsible for carrying out the rest of the investigations. They will hear from the victim as soon as possible. For the moment, no avenue is favored. But the hypothesis of a settling of scores is on everyone's minds.
