After a court decision in his favor, Arnaud Lagardère takes over the leadership of the group in his name: News

Arnaud Lagardère announced on Friday that he was taking over the management of the group in his name after the partial lifting of the management ban that had been imposed on him at the end of April and had forced him to temporarily step down.

Mr Lagardère had relinquished his executive mandates, including that of CEO, on April 30 after being indicted as part of investigations into the financing of personal expenses by his companies.

His lawyers, Sébastien Schapira and Dimitri Grémont, had appealed, which allowed him to obtain “the partial lifting of the management ban that had been issued against him”, Lagardère said in a press release on Friday.

This court decision authorizes him to “manage Lagardère SA”, a judicial source confirmed to AFP.

Consequently, the Lagardère board of directors met on Friday and “unanimously designated” Arnaud Lagardère as CEO, the group said in its press release.

Quoted in this text, Mr. Lagardère thanked the directors and shareholders of the group for their “trust” and their “support”, “and more particularly the first of them, the Bolloré family”. After Mr. Lagardère’s withdrawal, the interim was ensured by Jean-Christophe Thiery, chairman of the supervisory board of the Canal+ Group.
