Three teams will have to go through a qualifying round to reach the main draw of the Poitiers Challenger. For their very first participation in a stage of the “FIBA 3×3 World Tour”, Pau must come out at the top of a group made up of Marupe (Latvia) and Derwent (Bosnia and Herzegovina) to be able to access the main round. The Pauois will be able to count on Rudy Equest-Prisonerfinalist of the 2023 French Open and U18 World Champion in 2022, as well as the Algerian international Hadi’s evidence.
In the other group, Bordeaux Ballistik and Nantes ATC will compete for the only ticket for the main round alongside Manises (Spain). Eliminated in the group stage of the Orléans Challenger last week, Bordeaux Ballistik is back with new ambitions in Poitiers. The Bordeaux collective composed of Eddy Steiner, Antoine Eito, Baptiste Oger, Stéphan Gauthier appears as a favorite on paper but only the reality on the ground counts in these moments. After a great start to the season, Nantes ATC also needs victories to reassure itself. To do this, the Nantes collective will be able to count on an essential trio composed of Lucas Malary, Rod Hamon et Steven Obiejesi.
If Bordeaux Ballistik, Nantes and Pau will have to go through a qualifying round, this is not the case for Ermontalready assured of playing in the main round. After achieving a historic result last week at the Orleans Challenger, Ermont is now aiming for more than a quarter-final. The Parisians will once again be able to count on the talent of Hervé Jean-Pierre (French No. 30) and a solid collective. The task will not be easy since they will challenge two teams referenced on the international circuit: Raffle (6th best team in the world) and Kandava Turiba (3th of the Ulaanbaatar Masters this season).
