Due to a snowy event and freezing rain, Météo-France places the Jura department on yellow “snow-ice” vigilance from Thursday November 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. until Friday November 22, 2024.
The expected snowfall is 3 to 7 cm thick depending on the terrain, with freezing rain localized in the plains and on the first plateau.
In connection with the passage of depression CEATANO, the wind strengthens from Thursday 2 p.m. on the Jura. Gusts between 60 and 80 km/h are expected until the middle of the night from Thursday to Friday when the wind then gradually calms down.
Weather conditions should not impact school transport and road traffic management.

Only travel if necessary.
If travel is required:
● Equip yourself with special equipment;
● Strictly respect diversions and traffic instructions;
● Turn on the low beam or fog lights;
● Use the ventilation and defrosting systems to enable the proper functioning of the windshield wipers;
● Avoid accelerations and jerks;
● Do not overtake a snow removal vehicle in action;
● Never run an engine to heat the vehicle if it is blocked by snow, gas
exhaust can cause asphyxiation;
● Provide minimum equipment in the event of prolonged immobilization;
● Do not leave the vehicle for any other reason, only at the request of the rescuers.
