That's it. The good seed has found its space. This is a wing of theformer nursing home from Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans, in Gironde. After three years of researchof moves and failures to establish itself in a lasting manner, the third place, co-founded by Marion Mercier-Darrigade and Sarah Parcisson, can finally build your project more serenely.
It is officially launched on Sunday November 24, 2024 by a festival of a day. On the program, a walkand concert and story readings.
A place around local food
“The good seed has existed since April 2021, but we had difficulty finding a place that could accommodate us,” begins Marion Mercier-Darrigade. The idea of this place of sharing came to him from a rapprochement with his 74 year old neighbor.
At the time, she found herself widowed and isolated. I visited her and found an excuse to stop by and see her to do her vegetable garden. She did it every year, but no longer felt the strength to take the plunge this time.
One thing led to another and the co-founder worked from her neighbor's house to break her loneliness. “I was just unemployed then and I started thinking about and working on The Good Seed. » His idea is to found a place aroundfoodof thepeasant settlement a you live together.
A large sharing space
If she thought it up on her own, Marion Mercier-Darrigade wants to co-build her third place and is looking for someone to partner with and carry out the project collectively. She meets Sarah Parcisson who, for her part, is thinking about a place focused onecology and the well-being. They then decide to make common cause.
There you have it, The good seed is germinating and it is ready to grow. Only for this, he needs a pot that fits his size. What she has just found since September 2024, in Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans, in the premises of theformer nursing home.
It is a place which belongs to the Clairsienne company. The entire nursing home has been razed except for the old Alzheimer's unit which we are in the process of investing in. It takes a lot of work.
In these premises, there are notably 15 rooms of 20 m2 with toilet and shower, potentially usable for making individual officesa large space of coworkingand associative caféa room sporta room détentea room musique for an association which will give courses as well as another large room which will probably be used for expositions. Outside, from spring, a educational garden and shared will see the light of day.
In order to keep the place alive on a daily basis, an 80% employee will be hired and a thirty volunteers assets are involved in the project.
If its new location does not contain agricultural land, La bonne graine also helps local farmers to settle down and cultivate plots of agricultural land in two other localities.
The idea is that it's like home, but better because there are people there.
