The Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) arrested a mother of two and her partner for committing several sexual acts against the woman’s offspring on Wednesday. About ten charges were brought against the couple in this disturbing case.
The woman and man, aged 33 and 25 respectively, were arrested by investigators from the sexual assault unit.
According to the SPVQ, the couple allegedly committed sexual offences against two children aged five and six, a boy and a girl.
The facts with which they are accused began in November 2017 for the most part, when the two little alleged victims were less than a year old. The end of the offenses is in the summer of 2023 for the two accused.
Shocking charges
The two suspects face a litany of sexual charges ranging from sexual assault and sexual contact to incest and child corruption.
The duo of alleged perverts is also accused of sexual immorality and endangering the morals of children, “making the home unfit for the presence of children”. A charge of exposing their genitals to children was also brought.
Finally, the man also faces two counts of assault against the children.
No background
They both appeared Thursday at the Quebec courthouse.
Crown prosecutor Ms.e Anne-Frédérique Coulombe opposed their release. The two accused will therefore remain detained pending further proceedings.
The woman and the man have no criminal record.
