The City of Montmagny salutes the involvement of the Association of firefighters of Montmagny and Cap-Saint-Ignace who took part in the organization of a Héma-Québec blood drive on Thursday, June 20 at the Espace Citoyen pavilion from Montmagny. The blood drive was under the honorary presidency of firefighter Simon Blanchet, who unfortunately died on Saturday June 15 following an illness.

The staff of the City of Montmagny, and particularly the Fire Department team, would like to express their condolences to the family and loved ones of their work colleague.

Marc Laurin, mayor of the City of Montmagny, emphasizes that “The volunteer involvement of firefighters once again demonstrates the dedication they have to their community. As part of their job,” he said, “they provide assistance to victims of accidents and fires. By giving blood, and by encouraging citizens to do so as well, they are still saving lives. I thank them very much.”
