The Agglo de Nîmes métropole ensures that the rents “unduly collected by Edéis” have always been claimed.

« What is said in your article is false and taints our integrity! Nothing has been swept under the rug (…) This is a specious interpretation of the difficulty and length of dealing with the recovery of rents from the airport platform, generated during the period of the previous mandate », reacts Nîmes métropole, following the publication of our article AIRPORT The Agglo wants to (finally) recover its rents.

And to announce the different “ procedural acts ” to recover the money. In 2019, in order to follow up on the observations of the Regional Court of Auditors, Nîmes Métropole issued three titles against the company Edeis Aéroport Nîmes, for a respective amount of €747,998, €727,998 and €761,916 for the land royalties for the years 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The company Edeis Aéroport Nîmes appealed to the administrative court. In December 2022, a new title in the amount of €872,054 is issued against the company. The court canceled the three titles issued for the years 2015, 2016, 2017 due to the absence of prior conciliation which should have been implemented. As a result, ” the title was canceled by Nîmes Métropole in order to implement a conciliation ».

« Nîmes Métropole wished to extend to this conciliation the state fees for the financial years 2018 to 2020 », assures the Agglo. A registered letter was therefore sent to EDEIS which did not respond. The lack of response from EDEIS to the conciliation request for the years 2018 to 2020, within the allotted deadline, “ constitutes an implicit rejection and therefore authorizes Nîmes Métropole to issue revenue titles for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020 ».

This is how Nîmes Métropole issued a revenue certificate in December 2023 concerning the year 2018. Still according to the Agglo, the remaining revenue certificates, i.e. 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, may be issued again after the adoption of the supplementary budget at the community council on June 26, which provided the necessary amounts.
