Météo France has issued an Orange level weather alert for the “Wind” parameter from Wednesday November 20, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

From the evening of Tuesday 19 to Wednesday 20 November 2024, Libeccio could strengthen. It could become very strong, initially mainly involving Balagne, Cap Corse and the hills.
Gusts could reach up to 110-130 km/h in Balagne and on the hills; 140-160 km/h on Cap Corse; around 80-100km/h in Bastia.
The Haute-Corse prefecture calls on the population to be extremely vigilant and reiterates the precautionary instructions:
- Limit your movements and take shelter,
- Do not walk in the forest or on the coast,
- Stop all outdoor activities,
- Do not go to sea, do not get into the water and stop all water activities,
- In town, be vigilant of possible falling objects,
- On roads and motorways, limit your speed (especially caravans and teams),
- Store or secure objects sensitive to the effects of wind or likely to be damaged,
- Do not work on roofs and under no circumstances touch electrical wires that have fallen to the ground.
