Snow expected on the A89 and the Massif Central, Puy-de-Dôme on wind alert

At 7:30 a.m., this Wednesday, November 20, 2024, showers mixed with snow are expected on the A89 motorway during the day between Saint-Julien-Sancy and Combronde and between Saint-Germain-Laval and Lyon.

“Be extra vigilant in this sector,” warns account X of the highway.

On the Auvergne peaks

Météo France places Puy-de-Dôme on yellow alert for the winds this Thursday, November 21.

The Caetano depression crosses the country from west to east. In its northern part, from Brittany and Normandy to Franche-Comté and the Alps, snowfall is expected with accumulations of around a few centimeters.

There is still a fairly marked uncertainty about the exact position of this snow band, very dependent on the trajectory of this depression.

In Auvergne, according to the animations, snow should only fall on the summits, where a few centimeters are expected on the Massif Central.

A move to orange “snow-ice” vigilance for several departments in this band is very likely in the next updates of the vigilance map.
