A heist like no other took place this Tuesday, November 19, 2024, early in the morning, in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon.
A prestigious jewelry store in the city center was attacked with construction equipment around 6 a.m. according to the magazine Lyon People and we are concordant sources.
“A little loot”
This heist took place less than a week after the robbery of a gold buying establishment in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon. This time it is about joaillier Augislocated at 32 rue de la République.

Using a construction machinestolen according to our information, the individual(s) perforated the armored windows on the rue Ferrandière side to steal the jewelry and watches displayed in the window. This theft, probably carried out in a gust of wind, was limited to “a small loot”, according to a source close to the file atnews Lyon.
The amount of damage for the Galeries Lafayette Group is estimated at €50,000 according to BFM Lyon. A ten watches great watches were stolen.
The thief(s) did not have the opportunity to enter the store and would have simply passed their arms through the narrow gaps dug in the window by the construction equipment.
The perpetrator(s) on the run
An investigation is underway to trace the perpetrators. The police make observations and question potential witnesses. The store remains open this day despite the attack, according to our journalist present on site.
