Saturday June 29, it’s time for the first stage of the Tour de France 2024 with a rugged profile that awaits the riders involved. Departure from Tuscany and arrival along the Adriatic Sea. And it is between Florence and Rimini that the first yellow jersey and the first stage victory will be played out. With a distance of 206 kilometers, some 3,600 meters of positive altitude difference displayed and 47.2 kilometers of hills to climb, it is possible that Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel or even Primoz Roglic will already come to face each other.

47.2 kilometers of coastline to climb this Saturday
The Tour de France riders will set off from Florence with a difficult first stage to contend with with this rugged profile. Suffice it to say that the first yellow jersey awarded will not be at a “discount”. In total, the peloton will have to overcome 7 listed climbs, the last of which is located 25 kilometers from the finish. Throughout the course, participants will progress between an altitude of 930 meters at the highest (summit of the Col de Valico Tre Faggi) and approximately 500 meters of altitude. Only the start and end of stages will be contested at sea level.
