Le Pays solicited all the candidates for the 5th constituency of Roannais by asking each of them the same questions. Here, Ismaël Stevenson (Union of the Left banner).

Can your proposals be heard in this lightning campaign?

The proposals for these legislative elections did not come out of the hat on June 9, it is joint work which was started in 2022 with Nupes and which today goes to the essence of what the Left wants for France and the French. Today, the New Popular Front proposes more than 150 measures broken down into three stages: a short period, that of emergency, a period of 100 days that of bifurcation, then the real transformations.
What are your priorities at the national and local level?

The priority remains the purchasing power of the French, and we will work in this direction as quickly as possible, by increasing the minimum wage to €1,600, by blocking the prices of food, energy and fuel. Then, it is our public services that we absolutely must get back on their feet, Health and Education are the pillars of a healthy democracy. Local issues are also national issues, we must not forget that, and that is the role of the MP.

How do you plan to influence the political scene in the event of an election, knowing that the balance that is expected within the hemicycle is unprecedented?

We are convinced that we can have a majority in the chamber. In this way, France will have a very good government resulting from the New Popular Front which will govern together and in the common interest.
