Tuesday, June 18, the Guillaumet college held its last performance of the show “Les Loups sont des licornes” at the music conservatory. The first performance had taken place the day before.
“We had a good laugh, we had a great time with the students at each rehearsal session. My dream was to open a theater workshop and it is now done,” declared Johanne Dossman, the teacher who proposed and directed this theatrical project since the start of the school year.
In the first part of the show, the students of the college’s mediation workshop presented with conviction and emotion the work carried out during the year: bi-weekly martial arts classes in partnership with the Thieu-Lam center, lyrics free on the conflict situations experienced by the students, role plays. A very involved and hard-working group of students who extolled courage in the face of adversity and ended with a dazzling martial arts display. A state of mind and a mastery acquired in college…
Around twenty students on the boards
The play was then performed with fervor by around twenty perfectly coordinated students taking on the roles of forest animals: turtles, hares, wild boars, squirrels, deer, hedgehogs, bears and of course wolves. All the students worked with their teacher to produce together this new piece, freely adapted from a comic strip. The joy of playing in front of the spectators present, mostly family, could be seen on the faces of the young actors. Is the fear of wolves really justified? Protecting yourself from wolves gives meaning to the work of many animals, but does this work always have meaning? What can we do if this fear no longer exists? Some of the questions that the audience could ask themselves at the end of the show, drawing parallels with our human society. A truly successful and enthusiastic adaptation that the audience greeted with a round of applause and an ola.
