The town of Poissy (Yvelines) would like to recover the gold statue of Christine de Pizan, created and exhibited for the Paris Olympic Games. A request was made, but the Paris town hall has not yet given its response.
Soon a gold statue in Poissy (Yvelines)? The town hopes to one day be able to host one of the ten gold statues for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In September, the town hall asked the city of Paris for “a loan or deposit” of the sculpture representing Christine de Pizan , reports 78 Actu.
The request was initially made to the Olympic organizing committee. ” In the meantime, [les statues] became the property of the City of Paris, which we then contacted, because we really want it,” explained the deputy mayor in charge of culture. For the moment, no response has been given by Paris town hall.

Other municipalities have also asked to accommodate some of these statues, discovered during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Poissy is confident in the success of its request, because the city has invested heavily in the sporting event. In addition, it is an integral part of the story of Christine de Pizan, an emblematic writer of the Middle Ages.
The author was in fact born in Venice, but ended her life in Poissy, in 1431. Currently, several installation sites are being studied for the statue. The city would like to see it near the Abbey Enclosure, the writer's former home. “We want it to be in a busy place, frequented, especially by the younger generation, so that it continues to inspire as many people as possible,” confides the assistant.
