This figure was revealed by the Minister Delegate in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, when he presented the sectoral budget of his department in committee in the House of Representatives.

The overwhelming majority of foreign officers trained in the Kingdom come from sub-Saharan Africa as part of cooperation agreements with friendly countries.

According to figures for 2024, 1,205 soldiers followed their training in the academies of the Royal Armed Forces while the rest (300 executives) are trained in the centers of the Royal Gendarmerie. Foreign officers benefit from comprehensive support.

Morocco has for decades been a premier training center for African officers. Over time, the Kingdom has become a privileged destination. This is demonstrated by the journey of several African leaders who received their military training there, namely Gabon’s new strongman, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, laureate of the Meknes Military Academy.
