The global call center giant “faces structural challenges”, indicates its management.
The global call center giant Teleperformance has presented a voluntary departure plan for nearly a third of its workforce in the country, management confirmed on Tuesday, following information from the media La Lettre.
A voluntary departure plan “which would concern 598 positions” – or nearly a third of the 1,872 employees that the company has in France – was presented by management to the social partners during a works council on Friday, the company said.
Teleperformance also indicated that the voluntary departure plan would not result in any site closures.
Nearly 500,000 employees worldwide
At the end of 2023, the company had 492,000 employees, spread across nearly 100 countries.
“For several years, Teleperformance France has been facing significant structural challenges which today require a new organization in order to restore its competitiveness and ensure its sustainability in an increasingly competitive environment,” she indicated to the AFP.
Teleperformance, which recorded a 2.1% increase in revenue over the first 9 months of the year, confirmed its annual financial objectives at the beginning of November, with an increase in revenue of between 2 and 4%.
On the Paris Stock Exchange, the stock lost 2.93% to 88.84 euros on Tuesday around 10:45 a.m., in a market down 1.49%.
At the start of the year, its value fell due to concerns about competition from artificial intelligence.
