Since November 5, Argenton has had a new thrift store, for men and women, located at 46 rue Victor-Hugo. This is the Chez Bab's boutique, run by Élisabeth Lefranc. Alongside second-hand clothes, you can find the shopkeeper's own creations: costume jewelry and sewing creations, such as handbags, makeup remover pads, cushions, scrunchies, or salad bowl tops. Sewing items and jewelry are made from recycled fabrics and charms.

Élisabeth Lefranc, originally from Pas-de- (62), has lived in Argenton for a year and a half. She moved there with her husband and children, the region having attracted them during their holidays. After working as a caregiver at the Le Clos du verger nursing home, a profession she practiced for eighteen years in her hometown before setting up a thrift store, Élisabeth Lefranc decided to create a boutique in the same type as the one she held before her move.

Clothes sold by the kilo

« Everything happened quickly “, explains the trader who adds: “ Jalready have quite a few requests, and I'm off to a pretty good start “. The latter believes that the neighborhood is no stranger to this satisfactory start of activity: “ Between the music school, the bakery and the tobacco bar, there is a lot of traffic on this street, not to mention the proximity to the city center ».

Élisabeth Lefranc, who masters sewing, also offers alterations and hems, as well as customizations of clothing such as jackets or sweatshirts. Some clothes are sold by weight, at a price of €10 per kilo. Customers can also bring clean clothes and, in exchange, receive vouchers that can be used in the store. Elisabeth Lefranc says she is delighted with her family and professional setup, ready to welcome a clientele who is already very attentive to her proposals.
