the essential
This year, students in CM1 and CM2 classes at Immaculée Conception nursery and primary school have embarked on a new educational project whose theme is “the sea and the oceans”.
What could be better than going to sea school in October to kick off this great year? On the program, visit to the Corderie Royale de Rochefort with learning about seamanship knots, introduction to sailing on Optimists boats, discovery and practical work at the sumptuous La Rochelle Aquarium, hiking on Île Madame at low tide, fishing on foot and Accro-mâts course (a treetop adventure in the mast of a boat).
The trip was incredible, the students enthusiastic and the teachers and guides delighted!
Generous donors
This project was financed by the school's parents, the APEL and the establishment of a participatory budget on the National Education project kit. €5,000 was thus raised.
Many local partners responded to the call: Les Fleurons de Lomagne, the Nin TP company, Les Vergers de Beausoleil, Bacqua Charpente, C & D Advice and SAS Franczak et fils as well as around forty donors.
This is an opportunity for the schoolchildren to thank them warmly.
Focus on the Vendée Globe
After writing a logbook about this beautiful trip, the CM1 and CM2 classes are now focusing on the Vendée Globe race. The students will follow the skippers and confront the difficulties of such an exploit.
They are also thinking about creating an exhibition on the theme of Sea and Oceans for the month of March, an opportunity to transmit what was learned and seen in class.
However, teachers do not forget essential school learning but they simply work on it by adding their little grain of salt.
