It was Arthur Salone (PS), member of the opposition group Rassembled.es for Aubagne, who raised the contradiction after the presentation of the supplementary budget by the elected finance official, Danielle Menet, this Tuesday, June 25 during the municipal council from Aubagne. A 2024 supplementary budget which balances expenditure and revenue at almost 12 million euros, for a main budget voted in December of more than 100 million euros.

In the monotone tone that we know in municipal council, the opponent did not mince his words. After a numerical demonstration, he said: “Once again, it is a budget which pushes Aubagne a little further into nothingness with a total absence of short, medium and long term vision.“.

Did he hit the mark? No. Familiar with this agreed-upon game, the finance official responded in a few sentences, calmly, before concluding: “Yes, we have a roadmap and we will continue with consistency“.

Tuesday evening, the council could have taken another turn at 6 p.m., at the Espace des Libertés, when Alexandre Latz (Place Publique), from the group Rassembled.es, asked the mayor to be able to make an introductory statement. The subject ? The legislative elections, the first round of which will be held this Sunday, June 30. But Gérard Gazay (LR), refused because “during this period, we must be neutral” during the municipal council.
