EasyJet increasingly aims to connect France to European destinations, particularly Nordic ones, with direct lines. Indeed, in order to strengthen its offer for the next winter season, the British low-cost airline has introduced new international connections from two French airports to a magical destination in Finland.

The airline easyJet announced on June 20, 2024 the launch of a new route to Rovaniemi, capital of Lapland, in Finland from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport which will enter service from November 30. With two flights per week: Wednesdays and Saturdays, Lyon residents will have the opportunity to discover this magical destination in Finland.

However, it is not just the City of Lights Airport that will serve Finland’s second busiest airport. Indeed, two new French airports will offer flights to this same exceptional destination.

2 flights per week from Nice

According to -.Fr, after the announcement of the inauguration of three new connections to Lanzarote, Madrid and Strasbourg, the airline easyJet continues to strengthen its commercial offer from the Alpes-Maritimes. It recently introduced a new route to the capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi with the aim of expanding its winter offer from Nice airport.

This news will run from November 30 until February 22. Thanks to the availability of two flights per week: Tuesdays and Saturdays, it will now be possible for travelers to leave the sunny Nice for the cold of Finland. The ticket office is already open for reservations at an affordable rate.

Furthermore, according to the same source, the date of November 30, 2024 will also be marked by the launch of a new air link to the same destination, but this time from Bordeaux-Mérignac airport, with two weekly flights: Saturdays and Wednesdays, operated until March 12, 2025.

“For the first time, Bordeaux will be connected to Lapland by direct flight. The airport is continuing to adapt its network and strengthen its service to leisure destinations.”rejoices Simon Dreschel, chairman of the board of directors of Bordeaux airport.

With these latest new connections, easyJet assures its statement in a press release and confirms ” its intention to connect France to the Nordic countries through direct and attractive connections, offering the possibility of discovering the beauty of snowy landscapes and the breathtaking Northern Lights.”

French travelers should prepare to explore the snowy landscapes of this magnificent Finnish city as well as the breathtaking Northern Lights, which can be admired on site.
