This is how pass receivers Vincent Paquette and Nicolas Tardif, products of the Élites, as well as defensive winger Élyaqim Beaudin, a product of the Incredibles, helped the Lauréats dispose of the Faucons du Cégep de Lévis 40-17. The first, named to the second division all-star team of the Quebec Student Sports Network, continued his excellent work with two touchdowns and a haul of 117 yards.

For Paquette, Tardif and Beaudin, it was a second victory in a row at the Bol d’Or.

Another former member of the Incredibles, Zachary Morin, had played five games with the Laureates this season before an injury ended his campaign.

Then, quarterback Raphaël Vaillancourt, still a former member of the Incroyables, did not see any action in his natural position during the triumph of the Gaillards from Cégep de Jonquière 24-21 against the Griffons from Cégep de l’Outaouais during the Third division Bol d’Or, which also took place in Trois-Rivières. A rookie, Vaillancourt still had his share of playing time this season with the Saguenay team.

The Asterixes lose in the final

The Jean-Jacques-Bertrand high school football program is far from having experienced only happy moments in recent years, but now it is truly getting back on track.

Thus, the Asterix of fourth division youth football with nine players reached the final of the Montérégie League, although they lost 34-27 to the Impact of Durocher college in Saint-Lambert.

The Asterix, who concluded the season with a brilliant record of six wins and two losses, have the honor of having been the very last school football team in the region in action in 2024.
