The weather conditions are expected to be particularly turbulent, with powerful gusts and sustained precipitation.
Strong winds and wave-submersion
In Pas-de-Calais, the wind alert will begin at midnight and will last all day.
For the North, the phenomenon is expected later, from midday.
Gusts could reach 80 to 90 km/h on the coasts and until 60 to 80 km/h inlandespecially during the heaviest showers.
A additional wave-submersion vigilance has also been issued for the Pas-de-Calais coast, valid from midnight to 3 p.m.
Heavy rain and risk of flooding
The two departments are also under yellow alert for rain-floods.
In Pas-de-Calais, this alert is active from midnight to 3 p.m., while in the North, it will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Heavy precipitation could make difficult traffic conditions and cause water accumulation.
