Saturday June 22, 2024, the auditorium of the central library welcomed around thirty people who love foreign languages ​​and intercultural exchanges. Every week, Linguafest offers it through its language cafés: the opportunity to practice your language, to put your linguistic knowledge to work in a foreign language or quite simply to take a still journey.

Several tables, a flag inviting you to choose English, Spanish, Italian, French or Esperanto. So Victor, a young Mexican who lives in Tours, but also Mailane, a Brazilian, will alternately discuss in French and English with this Tunisian family from Langeais or these three friends from Tours, including Hugo, returning from a European volunteer in Poland.

“It’s Europe that helps us travel », welcomes the one who was accompanied by the House of Europe. Everyone is eager for human and taste discoveries and will appreciate the proposal from Maria, Argentina and member of Linguafest.

She is going to present the mate. Stimulating virtue of this infusion from South America or simple energy of the young assembly? The meeting will continue in a joyful atmosphere to the satisfaction of the older people who have come precisely for the intergenerational side of these language cafés.

Next summer meetings: every Tuesday from 8 p.m. at the tavern in Tours before resuming at the start of the school year at Crafty place de la Résistance.
