Saint-Cloud Grand Prix: fond memories of Trêve

When we look a little closer at the race results, we quickly see that the winners of this event are authentic champions. Eleven horses managed to win the Saint-Cloud Grand Prix and the Qatar Price of the Arc de Triomphe : Mon Talisman (1927, 1928), Corrida (1936), Djebel (1942), Ardan (1944, 1945), Exbury (1963), Sea Bird (1965), Rheingold (1972, 1973), Carnegie (1994, 1995), Helissio (1996, 1997), Montjeu (1999, 2000), Alpinista (2022) but above all Tdream (2014, 2015).

It is June 28, 2015 and the daughter of Motivator presents itself in this Saint-Cloud Grand Prix (Gr.I) as the undisputed favorite. In front of a crowd won over to her cause, she controlled for part of the race before making a devastating acceleration 400 meters from the finish. Despite a small gap on arrival, the resident of the family Head wins more easily than it seems, finishing in front Flintshire et Dolnia in a fantastic time of 2’27″59.

Gianni Cagiula : “She proved that she was still on top at the age of 5. She was at the top of her game that day. She subsequently won the Vermeille and attempted the hat-trick in the Arc. With this victory in Saint-Cloud, she continued to write her legend and positioned herself as the favorite to win the Arc. It’s not an anecdotal victory, it’s very rare to see a galloper running for another 5 years. It’s appreciated. I remember Christiane Head on the podium speaking to the crowd saying “Thank you for coming out to support Trêve. You are all invited to our stable to go see her.”
