“There is strength in numbers,” says the proverb. This is also what allowed Annet-sur-Marne (Seine-et-Marne) to obtain a nice grant from the Île-de-France Region, as part of the Ecological participatory budgetfor the renovation of its public lighting.
Explanations.
Why did you apply?
Following the outbreak of conflict in Ukraine, 2022THE energy costs had soaredand each municipality had put in place a solution to reduce the bill which was looking more than hefty.
In Annet-sur-Marne, the choice was made toturn off every other candelabra to save energy. “We decided not to turn it off completely because we have cameras, but also for reasons of security », remembers Stéphanie Auzias, the mayor of Annet-sur-Marne.
However, some pavilions were left in darkness when night fell, while others were always illuminated. So, after seeing a study of Sdesmthe Departmental Energy Union of Seine-et-Marne, explaining that the switch to LED, with a power reductioncould provide suitable and economical lighting, the decision was made to take the plunge and put together a file for the Ecological Participatory Budget of the Île-de-France Region.
The principle is simple: the more votes there are, the more the project leaderin this case, the City, is likely to obtain subsidies. And obviously, the Annetois were motivated, since the municipality obtained funding of 94 000 euros.
Towards 100% LED
Today, the town has some 548 candelabraincluding 350 already switched to LED. Eleven of them, on Allée de la Tournelle, had also been subsidized during a previous edition of the ecological participatory budget. On a city scale, however, there remain 198 street lamps using a sodium lamp.
With the grant obtained, these will be replaced in the coming months. ” So, before the end of 2025the entire town should be lit with LEDs,” says Stéphanie Auzias.
This project, at an estimated cost of just over 147,000 euros excluding taxes, could also benefit from subsidies from Sdesm, making it possible to reduce as much as possible for the municipality.
