The trial of a septuagenarian accused of attempting to murder his mistress's husband opens this Monday, November 4, 2024 before the Côtes-d'Armor Assize Court. The facts date back to August 2021 in Cambout, a small town of 450 inhabitants located on the borders of Côtes-d'Armor and Morbihan.
“We’re in the south here, sir, and like in Marseille, there’s shooting everywhere!” jokes a Cambout resident, before quickly adding: “You know, nothing ever happens here normally.” However, on August 17, 2021, late in the afternoon, a gunshot rings out near a field of corn in Bourgeoreille, a hamlet located 2 km from the town: a rifle shot. The owner of the field, a retired farmer, was hit in the hip and forearm, but he survived. Fortunately, his grandchildren who accompanied him were unharmed. This is the second time in two weeks that this man has been injured by a firearm.
DNA on an ear of corn

This man is on trial from this Monday, November 4 by the Côtes-d'Armor Assize Court in Saint-Brieuc. Her trial to last four daysuntil Thursday.
