The Archipelago regularly organizes special themed giant aquagym sessions. In total immersion, we tested this refreshing experience for you.

Neon aquagym, cinema aquagym, and now… rhinestone and glitter aquagym! To celebrate the music festival, the Archipelago organized a special giant aquagym session. Total immersion in a festive and vibrant atmosphere, I tested this refreshing experience for you.

It was by chance that I discovered these themed aquagym sessions while browsing the Archipelago website. Intrigued by fluorescent aquagym and cinema aquagym, I decided to try the experience for this special rhinestone and glitter edition, organized on the occasion of the music festival. Without a second thought, I put on my swimsuit and went to the municipal swimming pool for this special session.

Barely arrived, the lifeguards, Chloé Cosandey and her colleague Carole Cibiel, were already setting the mood. No time to wander around! They had put on their most beautiful sequined skirts, funky glasses and mismatched socks. The decorations all around the pool instantly immersed us in the spirit of the music festival. The first notes of “Magnolias for ever” by Claude François resonated, and the contagious energy of the lifeguards carried us away. Chloé and Carole each alternated a playlist of popular and catchy songs, for all tastes. After a good warm-up, we grabbed our fries and boards, ready to get into the action.

To my surprise, it was much sportier than I had imagined. For an hour, we did a series of exercises, and I must admit that, even at 20 years old, I felt every muscle in my body working. Despite the laughter and the apparent lightness of the session, every movement counted, especially for me who had the “brilliant” idea of putting myself in the front row. Under Carole’s close supervision, if I didn’t lift my leg enough, I was guaranteed a little improvised shower. We clapped our hands, sang at the top of our lungs and splashed ourselves with water, under the teasing gaze of the lifeguards. With only two boys and 38 participants in total, there were a little fewer people than usual, probably because of the music festival, but that in no way affected the general good mood.

Among the participants, Sandrine and Sophie were loyal to the post. Sandrine, used to regular classes, often takes Sophie for these giant sessions. They told me: “We like doing sports while having fun and being with our friends.”

The next meeting is set for July 19, with a session on the theme of the Olympics, followed on August 30 by a camping edition. These events are the perfect opportunity to combine sport and fun, while discovering new themes each time.
