IThis is draft decree No. 2.24.402 implementing the third section of Chapter IV of Title I of the law relating to nuclear and radiological safety and security and the creation of the Moroccan Safety Agency and nuclear and radiological security, concerning the application of safeguards under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

This text, which is part of the implementation of the provisions of Articles 116 and 117 of Law No. 142.12, aims to define the prerequisites relating to the communication of information to the aforementioned Agency relating to the installations and other locations, and on the import and export of related equipment and technologies, indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing at the end of the Council.

The draft decree also aims to establish the provisions to ensure the establishment of a national system of accounting and control of nuclear materials by the Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security, as well as the provisions necessary for both national inspection operations and those carried out by inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency.
