Concerns surrounding the free trade agreement with the Latin American countries of Mercosur are agitating the agricultural world, which denounces competition from production which is not subject to the same environmental and health standards as French products. .
Competitive impact
While the FDSEA and the Young Farmers renamed the communes of Lozère, the Confédération paysanne brought together several products from Mercosur countries, and even others, in order to denounce their presence on the shelves and their competitive impact for farmers: in particular meat, honey, fruits and vegetables, oils…
The operation was carried out at Hyper U and Intermarché, by farmers from the Confédération paysanne accompanied by committed citizens, in order to raise consumers' awareness of the issues at stake in this agreement and the threats weighing on local production.
