Divoneo opened in 2014. The Cahors indoor swimming pool celebrates its anniversary on November 30 and December 1. From here, here are ten pieces of information to help you explore it.
When Divoneo celebrates its anniversary, on November 30 and December 1, the Cahors indoor swimming pool will be a little over ten years old since it opened on March 1, 2014. It succeeded the Croix-de-Fer indoor swimming pool which closed its doors on February 28. Having become too old, it has not completely disappeared since it now houses a sports complex (climbing, boxing, etc.). Opened in 1973, it served its purpose for 41 years.
The construction site for the Divoneo water sports complex, strictly speaking, cost €10,735,000 excluding tax upon delivery.
-
Nearly a million euros in operating costs
Operating the swimming pool costs €980,000 per year. A sum which includes water, heating, energy, staff…
-
€280,000 in revenue
Entries and subscriptions bring in some €280,000 per year. The difference goes into the budget for Grand Cahors equipment. “This is compared to the cost of the old swimming pool. And it remains a public service,” underlines the community which adds the obligation to know how to swim.
-
More than 100,000 entries per year
On average, annual attendance is 61,000 entries from the general public, half of which are subscriptions. Add to this 30,000 school entries and 28,000 club entries. That is, on average, 119,000 entries per year.
-
Open three quarters of the year
Divoneo is open 280 days a year, giving way to the Archipelago during the summer. Since its inception, this represents 2,329 days of opening in total, taking into account exceptional closures due to the pandemic. It was also closed due to false ceiling problems.

-
Eight lifeguards
Divoneo's workforce corresponds to 15.5 full-time equivalents, including eight lifeguards. Every day, four and a half (!) MNS monitor the pools. A workforce adapted to the capacity of the swimming pool but not only that. At the Archipelago, the number of lifeguards mobilized each day is greater because its configuration has more angles. In Divoneo, it's straight.

1,000 m3 of water in the large pool
The large pool is 25 meters long and 16 wide. It contains approximately 1,000 m3, or one million liters of water.
The swimming pool consumes 9,300 m3 of water each year, between filling the pools, showering, cleaning and above all, renewing the water, a health necessity which meets standards set by the ARS. “A proportion of water must be injected regularly,” the community specifies, “that contributes to its quality.”

From 26.5° to 34° in water
The air temperature is 24.5°. In the water, it is 34° in the balneotherapy section, 32° in the fun pool, 31° in the learning pool and finally 26.5° in the largest. “We had decreased by 1° due to energy saving measures and we increased by 0.5° again to rebalance. Because that counts as half a degree in a large basin, they say in Grand Cahors, mine You're welcome, you can feel it.”
