That's what we call being caught red-handed! This Saturday, November 16the Vendée gendarmerie reports, on Facebook, that two individuals were spotted around the Fontenay-le-Comte remand center.

They were trying to smuggle illicit items in the establishment.

Smartphone, alcohol and narcotics found

Responding to numerous reports of suspicious projections, spotted by the prison administration, the soldiers of the Gendarmerie Surveillance and Intervention Platoon (PSIG) of Fontenay-le-Comte recently intensified their patrols around the remand center.

It was during a nighttime surveillance that the gendarmes spotted a ladder leaning against the wall of the establishment, and two individuals next to it. Seeing the soldiers, they fled but one of them was arrested.

And the discoveries are fruitful! While fleeing, one of the two individuals abandons his backpack. Inside, we find: a smartphone, narcotics, alcohol and various suspicious objects.

Placed in police custody, the young person arrested, already known to the justice system,will answer for his actions before the Judicial Court of La Roche-sur-Yonvia a court summons.
