Political career

After I had “left-wing sympathies” in his youth and having “felt betrayed by François Hollande and the socialists”, Gaëlle Pineau, 47, joined the National Rally. This 47-year-old employee, originally from Saint-Aignan-Grandlieu, candidate in the Nantes-Rezé district, is not her first attempt. In 2015, she represented the National Front in the departmental elections; in 2022, in the legislative elections, in the 4e constituency of Loire-Atlantique, she obtained 10.21% of the votes, behind Julie Laernoes (Nupes) and Aude Amadou (En Marche).

The measure for purchasing power?

Without an ounce of hesitation, she responds: “Reduce fuel taxes. It’s the simplest to make. Which immediately brings relief to the French. People who live far from their work are toast, it’s unfair. Some French people, once they have paid for their accommodation and groceries, no longer even have money for leisure activities. »
