Indira Ampiot, 20 years old, will represent our country as Miss France 2023. But exceptionally she will not be the only one. Explanations.
It is on the night of Saturday November 16 to Sunday November 17 that we will know the name of Miss Universe 2024. And this year, France has a much better chance of winning. For what ? Quite simply because exceptionally, not one but three French women participate in the beauty contest. Indira Ampiot, 20 years old, will represent our country as Miss France 2023.
But Miss Guadeloupe, Coraly Desplan, 20 years old, and Miss Martinique, Catherine Édouard, 25 years old, will also try their luck. The two departments decided to send their candidates on their own. “Personally, I have always been opposed to there being other compatriots. It puts our French women in competition…”confides Sylvie Tellier to Tele-Leisure. The former boss of the Miss France committee fears that the public's votes will be scattered among the participants.
At what time and on what channel?
The 73rd edition of the Miss Universe pageant will take place at the Arena Ciudad de México, Mexico. This year, a record number of 127 candidates from around the world are in the running. The previous record dates from 2018, with 94 participants. The event will be broadcast live from 2 a.m. on Paris Première, a pay channel of the M6 group. Sylvie Tellier will be on commentary.
The last French woman to win Miss Universe is Iris Mittenaere. It was in 2016. Last year, the representative of France, Diane Leyre, had not reached the Top 20, recalls BFTMV. Nicaraguan model Sheynnis Palacio, 24, currently holds the crown.
