The Tohannic recycling center in Valves (Morbihan) date of 2019. It is managed by Gulf of Morbihan – Vannes agglomeration (GMVA). It will be closed for work for six months.

A 1.5 million euro project

The modernization of the tool was approved by GMVA elected officials during the community council meeting on Thursday, May 30, 2024. “The work includes the demolition of the old premises. New ones will be rebuilt. A space will be dedicated to reuse.

The cost is 1.5 million euros excluding taxes. The place will be closed for six months, from November 2024 to the end of April 2025. You will therefore have to go to other recycling centers.

A badge after work

In addition, the road will be modified with the installation of a barrier. To access it after work, you will need a badge. It will be issued only to residents of the community of municipalities. “It is not to limit access to the recycling center, nor to make it chargeable, but to reserve for residents of the city and to regulate the number of vehicles on the site,” explains President David Robo.

Members of the public will be able to collect the badge for free in the fall. This is not the first equipment to be equipped with a barrier. This has already been the case in Locmaria-Grand-Champ since 2017 and in Arradon in April 2024.
