New closure for the road which goes from pont Pegasus in Bénouville at the Seat tip and at the port of Ouistreham (Calvados)East Coast.

For three days

The road and cyclist traffic will be closed in both directions of traffic, on the Maresquier damfrom Tuesday June 25 to Thursday June 27, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Apart from these times, the road will be accessible on a half-carriageway with an alternating light” specifies Ports de Normandie, the owner and manager of the Port of Caen-Ouistreham.

Cars, bicycles and pedestrians

For safety reasons, pedestrian traffic will also be prohibited on the sidewalks of the dam during the same period.

The ongoing work and successive traffic closures since March 2024 aim to complete the Maresquier spillway reinforcement project, started in November 2022.

The Maresquier spillway is a dam between the Caen to the sea canal and the Orne which is used to combat flooding. In 2009, seven years after it was commissioned, cracks were spotted on the dam. A long procedure before the courts followed.
