29 second general students from the Jean Vigo high school surfed the wave of the Côte des Basques in Biarritz from June 10 to 14.
The objective of the stay being to raise students’ awareness of sustainable development and environmental protection, eco-citizen activities were carried out such as collecting waste on a beach in Bidart after visiting the campus of the surf association. riding or even discovering the Rhune ecosystem.

Visits to the city of the ocean and the Biarritz aquarium enriched the students’ knowledge of marine biology, the formation of the oceans and their evolution using animations and virtual reality.
A memorable and educational stay
To complete the program, they also discovered a new sport: surfing with the help of state-certified instructors. The ascent of the Rhune was a highlight of the stay where the students climbed the 850 m of positive altitude difference from the summit of the Rhune on both the outward and return journeys.
