The Quay Scene goes on a spree from Auxerre to Sens

From Tuesday June 25 to Wednesday July 17, 2024, the Scène des quais leaves its home port in Auxerre for its summer migration. The café-theater barge will wander to Sens where it will anchor for a dozen days and offer a dozen performances.

In the summer of 2023, the café-theater barge reached Sens in several stopovers before returning to Auxerre. This time, if the navigation plan is the same, the Senonese stopover will be much longer along the quays. At the request of the City of Sens, the Scène des quais will offer seventeen performances from June 29 to July 11. What Mathilde Pelen is delighted about, at the helm of the Artem and the barge since 2019.

On the theme “Arts and sports along the waterways”

“Migration allows us to broaden our audiences. Last year, many people from the center and north of Yonne discovered our live performance scene during our summer stopovers. We recorded good attendance , as in Sens, delighted that we are highlighting the renovated platforms This summer, the City has decided to welcome us longer and to offer services to many age groups (schools, seniors, the general public. pop-up bar, with a small selection of local products, will be open every day, outside show hours,” explains the manager.

Winner of a call for projects launched by VNF (Voies navigables de France) on the theme “Arts and sports along the waterways”, the Scène des quais will present three shows (and one in collaboration with the TMS), a exhibition of photos of athletes from Yonne, by Auxerre photographer Gaëlle Robert and a conference, the day before the passing of the Olympic flame with the Olympic ski champion in 1984 in Sarajevo, Perrine Pelen and Gilles Mazega, team coach from France in the 1980s.

on the way there and back, the Scène des quais, its pilot Bruno and his crew of volunteers (around ten each day on deck) will cast off in six towns, always eager to carry the live show along the wave. Before returning to Auxerre for the Roussel Cadets of Laughter from July 23 to 25, 2024 and a well-deserved break at the beginning of August.
