Farmers who are members of the FDSEA are mobilizing on Monday November 18 in Isère. They will thus occupy a roundabout in the municipalities of Chimilin, Rives, Sablons and Grenoble. The operation, which should last only one day, aims to denounce the signing of a free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur. Farmers fear that the European market will be flooded with meat from Argentina and Brazil, without respecting European health and environmental standards.
At roundabouts, farmers will organize filter barriers between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. and light hazard lights. “We will try to target roundabouts rather at the level of motorway exits and entrances, to show the government that today, we are not entering the motorway, but that tomorrow it can start again“, explains Jérôme Crozat, president of the FDSEA of Isère. In Grenoble, the mobilization will take place on the Pierre-et-Marie-Curie roundabout, at the end of Avenue de l'Europe. In several towns and villages in Isère, the FDSEA is also considering replacing the signs indicating the names of municipalities with signs indicating the names of cities in Latin America.
