Decorations flourish in the windows and the cold sets in, announcing the beginnings of the Christmas festivities. In Champagnole, the municipality unveiled the entire program of Winter 2024which will start at the end of November. The City has focused on “its classics”, accompanied by some new featuresincluding a ball.

A foretaste of Christmas will be given from Wednesday November 27 with the start of the Commercial Union operation, which offers to win €15,000 in prizes and €3,300 in gift vouchers.

Unprecedented illuminations

The festivities will really begin on Friday December 6with the launch of illuminations from 6:30 p.m. on the Town Hall Square. This year the municipality has decided to put in the resources and transform the square into a “real showcase of light and music”.

“The big change for this year is that there will be a 80s vibe ball on the square, with DJ Weekless », announced Pascal Grenier, events assistant, during the presentation of the Hivernales. “The illuminations will be reinforced, with lighting of the buildings and the square. »

“There will also be a distribution of luminous caps but in limited quantities, so first come first served,” said the first deputy, David Dussouillez.

The Hivernales will continue with the traditional Christmas market, which will bring together around fifty exhibitors at the Oppidum, Sunday December 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please note that Santa Claus will be present from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday October 18, two robust horses will provide carriage rides in the city center. A magical moment which will be an opportunity to do some selfies with Santa Claus.

For gourmets, a tavern eveninghosted by Hippolyte and the captivating sound of his accordion will take place Friday December 20 from 6:30 p.m. at the Oppidum. And on the menu: oysters, salmon, foie gras, snails…

The Christmas parade, the highlight of the festivities

Another highlight of the festivities: the Christmas parade and fireworks e, which will take place on Saturday, December 21 from 5:30 p.m. in the city center. This year, Miss Sequinswill enchant the streets with its strolling show “Les Gondolas Célestes”, all to the sound of the Funky Clique from Ornans. Santa Claus will of course be there with the essential mascots. And to close this event, fireworks will light up the sky.

Finally, the Municipal Children's Council, in partnership with the Red Cross, is organizing a children's show, on the theme of ecology, Tuesday December 31 at 2:30 p.m. at the Oppidum.

Christmas carols, but not only that…

For music lovers, many activities are also on the program. The vocal ensemble Tourdion will give a tribute concert to Jura writersSunday 1is December at 5:30 p.m. at the church.

L'Harmonie municipale will perform on Saturday, December 14 at the Oppidum, at 8:30 p.m. Rock with harmony this is the challenge that the musicians of the orchestra will take on, with guests on vocals and electric guitar.

The traditional Christmas audition of music school students will take place Wednesday December 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Oppidum. On the program: Christmas music of course, but not only that…

Finally the Voice Friends will close this concert series on Sunday, December 22 at 5 p.m. at the church. The choir will offer Christmas carols and will be accompanied by children and parents from the Jeanne d'Arc School Center.

Activities throughout the month of December

Alongside these activities, a children's carousel will be installed at Belle Frize Park from December 8 to January 8.

And the gourmet terrace is renewedtown hall square, from December 5 to January 5. On the menu: oysters, snails, foie gras, waffles, pancakes, mulled wine…

All activities are free. Refreshments run by Champagne associations.
