Three men aged 21, 22 and 32 are currently being questioned by the Pau National Police. They are suspected of having threatened one person and attacked two others with a broken bottle on the sidelines of the Fête de la Musique. Both victims were slightly injured and did not need to go to hospital.
Two people carved with a shard of a bottle
The police were called around midnight to Place Royale in the city center near a stage set up for the Fête de la Musique. A man explains that he was threatened with a broken bottle because he refused to give a group a cigarette. A few minutes later only three men were arrested in the same area by the police.
At the same time, the police learned that two other people had been cut with a broken bottle near Place Royale. One of them was cut in the arm, the other in the neck. The injuries were minor and the victims were not transported to hospital.
The police made the link between these different attacks and took the three suspects into custody during the night from Friday to Saturday. According to the first elements of the investigation, it was the 22-year-old young man who carried out the blows. For the moment he denies the facts, just like the two other suspects, according to investigators. The victims and the attackers did not know each other, adds the police.
