Trained in Saint-Étienne, Gregory Coupet has nevertheless enriched his record with OL. As the derby returns to Ligue 1, the former goalkeeper admits his pride at having the two rival clubs under his skin.

Next November, the derby will be back on the O programL and theAS Saint-Etienne after two years of absence. This return is necessarily awaited by both camps after this wait which was much too long for some. Next November, Gregory Coupet may be seen at the Parc OL for the return of this regional derby. The former goalkeeper is one of the many players to have had the distinction of playing under both jerseys.

The difference is that he is the one who has left the biggest mark on OL by coming from Saint-Étienne. A real source of pride for the French international. “I was lucky enough to be trained in Saint-Étienne and to confirm in Lyon. It is my pride to say that I was recognized in the Lyon jersey and that I was trained at ASSE, said Coupet in the New Aisne. By saying that, the Lyon supporters will say that it is not possible, but any footballer who was trained in a club always claims the club where he trained. Sainté, that doesn’t give me goosebumps, far from it!”
