According to our colleagues from France Bleu, in the Dordogne department, a violent accident took place between a truck and a car this Tuesday near Saint-Paul-Lizonne, a town located on the edge of the Charente. It was at the end of the evening, at the intersection of the D709 and the D97E and around 11 p.m. that the collision occurred.
The car first went off course on a bend and then slipped under the truck's trailer. The victim, a young man aged twenty-five, nevertheless emerged unscathed. Only a few superficial wounds were caused despite the incredible violence of the accident. The driver of the truck who was arriving opposite said he was particularly shocked, but was not injured.
Numerous emergency services mobilized
The accident prompted the emergency intervention of the firefighters. They, coming from the municipalities of Ribérac and Saint-Aulaye, managed to extract the young man from his vehicle and then transferred him to the hospital in order to carry out additional examinations.
In these circumstances, traffic was completely interrupted throughout the night. It was in fact necessary to evacuate the damaged truck onto the main road and set up a diversion during this intervention.
